Scripture for 2009

Do not give up...
For [we] can do everything through Christ who gives [us] strength. [So] let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Php 4:13, Gal 6:9)

Sunday Meetings...

Where we meet and how we worship

We meet regularly on Sunday mornings for our celebration service...at  The Willows Primary School ...Starting @ 11:00am through to 12:30pm (with tea and coffee served from 10:30am). You are warmly invited to join us for our morning meeting that includes activities for children, youth and a creche.

Our Sunday meetings begin with a time of worship for all ages after which primary school age children and youth leave for their own meetings, the adults remain for further worship and Bible based teaching often followed by a time ministry and an opportunity to respond to God. If you would like to listen to a selection of sermons taken from our services then pleas click here>>>.

Our Style of Worship on a Sunday Morning

Our time of worship is normally led by a worship leader accompanied by guitar, and sometimes backed by other instruments such as base, keyboard and drums. As well as being biblically based we would describe our style of worship as Charismatic. This means enthusiastic, spontaneous and also with the use of spiritual gifts (charismata= spiritual gifts). We encourage participation and worship times are often lively - with people feeling free to move around and clap, pray out loud, read from the Bible or speak about things God is saying to us.

Part of blessing God, is that His body (the church) is also blessed and built up. This happens through words of encouragement, the laying on of hands for healing, and the use of spiritual gifts which are spoken of in the bible (1 Corinthians 12, 13 & 14).  We allow the Holy Spirit to have freedom in our meetings; guiding and prompting us in what we say and do.

Family Meetings

From time-to-time our morning service is an all-age family meeting when adults and children stay together for the whole service. These meetings are an opportunity for the whole church family to worship and learn together and for our children and young people to learn to worship from us. The format of the service is the same as our usual Sunday services, including worship and teaching, but the service is usually shorter, and the youth and children are encouraged to participate. There is usually a creche facility during the sermon for those with very young children who wish to be able to take them out.

Communion

Once a month we have Communion (Bread & Wine) during our Sunday meeting. The style of this may vary from month to month but is usually informal and during our time of worship. We also encourage Cell groups to have Bread & Wine once a month in their group meeting.
