KCC's Monthley Notice Sheet

Times of Outpouring…

Over the last three months, as we have watched, we have seen God pouring out a phenomenal healing anointing in Lakeland Florida with many people miraculously being healed. We have also heard testimony of many many more healings from those watching around the world. As I have watched I have experienced my faith lifted, an increased awareness of the presence of God and an increase in the prophetic. Over the last few weeks, we as a church have also seen people healed and lives changed as we have experienced an increase in God’s presence amongst us, both on Sunday mornings and in our Wednesday morning prayer meetings. God is on the move!

But I sense God is saying to us, this is only the beginning… over these last days I have felt Him say; “there is more, much much more”. All that we have experienced so far is just like an aroma of what God has prepared for us. The message that God has been bringing to us over these last weeks, and incidentally continually comes out of the Lakeland outpouring, is that we need to press into Him. At the start of this year God gave us a word over the church for this year, it was that we were to “seek first His Kingdom and all these things would be added to us”. I believe that if we want to continue to see God’s presence with us then we need to “seek first His Kingdom” or press into God. Think about it… when the kingdom of God comes down to earth phenomenal things happen because God’s presence is there! This is what we want week by week in our meetings.

In our prayer meeting this week there were several prophetic words of encouragement. But what stands out is that God was again telling us to press into Him. The first word we had was to ‘keep on’ drinking from God’s Spirit. The second was that just as an alcoholic needs a drink before he can go out in the morning and then constant top-ups throughout the day, so we too need to keep drinking from God’s Spirit.

God has said He wants to bring revival to Basildon. God wants to start with us. If we are prepared to press into Him, regularly drinking deeply of His Holy Spirit, then God will not only revive us but use us to bring revival to our town.

What we need to see is the “kingdom of God” come amongst us regularly and often. As we do, there will be an outbreak of the miraculous… not for its own sake, but because we have sought “the Kingdom of God”. This I believe is what our town needs; this I believe is our destiny in God.

Over the coming weeks let us constantly press into God. “Seeking first His Kingdom”

Recommended Book

'Christ's Radiant Church' by John Hosier. Price: £8.99

What is the church?
What should its values be?
How should its leaders lead?

John Hosier has spent almost his entire working life leading local churches. He explains, “In the second half of the twentieth century and into the twenty-first century there has grown up what have variously been referred to as House Churches, Restoration Churches, or New Churches. There has been a passion to get back to the kind of life about which we read in the New Testament, while wanting to be absolutely relevant to the present age.”

This book lays out the key convictions about the Body of Christ (the Church): how it functions, and what it seeks to achieve. What is apostolic ministry? The nature of baptism? The role of women? How should spiritual gifts operate? What is the Church’s mission?

This is a very readable book with John Hosier handling theology in a very clear and understandable way. A great book that gives a clear grounding in how we see church.
