Weekly Cell notes for Kings Community ChurchPlease note... For the person doing the word section remember the aim is to encourage discussion. Under each question are some discussion pointers they are not exhaustive but hopefully will help in the focus of the discussion around each question. Please do not read the question and then immediately read the discussion pointers. Rather use them to help you to guide the discussion in the group. Divine InterruptionsOn Sunday... Tim Blake came from Living Word and spoke on the topic of interruptions. Even though we can be in control by planning routes taking a list for shopping and maybe using a Haynes manual to repair our cars; we can never plan for interruptions. We see from Matthew 6 onwards Jesus was constantly interrupted, even whilst he was on the cross, a thief interrupted him. After Jesus' resurrection, we see him doing the interrupting. We are people who have been interrupted by Jesus. There is a danger that when we are interrupted that we do not respond. The good interruptions that Tim mentioned were: 1)Jesus' character and compassion of love and that the people had faith. 2) Our closeness to God in prayer enables us to discern the good and the stuff we need to avoid. 3) We need to allow the Holy Spirit to speak first. We need to look then look again and listen then listen again. 4)Ensure that we have space in our lives for people. We need to be an interrupted people. Read Matthew 6:1; 8:5, 24, 28; 9:18, 20, 27, 32; 12:10; 16:1. Jesus was constantly interrupted. What interruptions happen to us? How do we respond to these interruptions? Avoid them, turn phone off. Be listening for prompting of Holy Spirit, then you are contacted by people or person. How do we know if the interruption is from God or not? By listening to the Holy Spirit, being close in your relationship with God to enable you to discern the correct response. Notices Welcome on Sundays, has anyone a passion to see people welcomed when they come through the doors into the church meeting on Sunday's? It's a very important ministry and it gives people a first impression of the people of the church. We want to be known as a welcoming church. We would love you to come and speak to us if you have a heart for this important role. Speak to your Cell leader.
