About KCC Basildon...Who we are and how we started... |
Kings Community Church Basildon is a new church meeting in Basildon in The Willows Primary School and was planted out from Thundersley Congregational Church at the beginning of September 2003
For a long time the Leadership at Thundersley Congregational Church, headed by Senior Pastor David Pickett, had been carrying the vision to plant churches. In early 2002 the Church started life meeting in Basildon as one cell during the week. This grew to two then three cells. By May 2003 the church started meeting once a month on Sunday mornings @ 10:30am in the Blue House community centre. At the beginning of September 2003 the church was released from Thundersley Congregational Church and started meeting regularly each Sunday mornings for worship teaching and ministry. By the end of the month the church had grown to four cells and was averaging about 50 people at the Sunday service.
From the outset the church has been committed to unity in Basildon and to reaching people who do not know God, firmly believing that both the people of God in Basildon and Basildon itself have a destiny in God.
We continue to meet weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:30am in the Bluehouse community centre, and during the week in homes, in small groups called cells.
Since then we have outgrown Bluehouse Community Centre , we moved on to James Hornsbey High School early 2005 and now since late 2007 we have been meeting regularly at The Willows Primary School .
